Proprietor of Wychwood is Michael Pitman.

I purchased Wychwood in 2002 with my daughter Jessie of 7 years old, and Corey just 2 years old at the time. Farm work is done as a family and everyone pitches in.

Jessie is trying to grow out of being a tom boy but loves spending time on the farm and mothers any orphaned calves or lambs. Corey is known for his cowboy hat, wrangler jeans, cowboy boots, belt buckle and western shirt; he possibly should have been born 100 years ago! He is definitely in his element on the farm.

Breeding Quarter horses is another of Michael’s passions, when it comes time for mustering you are likely to find him on one of his horses bringing the cattle in. The way mustering use to be done!!!

In 2004 I leased a beachfront café in Normanville; the chefs were very excited to be preparing dishes with Wychwood beef at their finger tips.

I believe you are what you eat; the kitchen made everything from scratch including stocks and sauces. It soon became a multi award winning establishment. After four years the restaurant was sold to enable full focus and priority be given to Wychwood’s processing room.

Construction is now complete and the processing room is up and running.

There is not much Michael doesn’t know about every stage of producing consistent superior quality animals. Now we have our own butcher who is just as proud of the product as we are.

The demand for clean beef has been growing constantly as consumers become more and more aware of how important it is to eat healthy, and realize they don’t have to pay the earth to do so.

Just wanted to let you know that I cooked the butterfly lamb roast last night, the way you told me you cooked it.  Well, I can't tell you how great it was.  We thought we have had some pretty good lamb roasts in the past, but in comparison they were pretty ordinary.  We have never had lamb that was so tender.  We won't be buying our meat anywhere else in the future.  Thank you so much.

HI CALLED AT YOUR PROPERTY ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. HAD SOME LAMB SAUSAGES FOR DINNER ON SAT. AND WE WERE SURPRISED AT HOW LITTLE FAT THERE WAS IN THE GRILLER. SAUSAGES WERE LOVELY AND TASTY AND WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO BUYING MORE. TRIED SOME LAMB CHOPS LAST NIGHT AND WERE VERY IMPRESSED - SO MUCH MORE FLAVOUR, TENDER AND JUICY. THANKS FOR SOME MEAT WITH FLAVOURS THAT I REMEMBER FROM MY CHILDHOOD WHEN I LIVED IN THE COUNTRY IN TASMANIA. YUMMY!!
